Mechanical Servicing

Belconnen Exhaust & Automotive provide full car servicing and a range of mechanical services in the ACT, so that you can stay on top of your vehicle’s maintenance needs and ensure your car stays in its very best condition, catching issues early and avoiding costly repairs further down the line.

To keep your car in a good performance condition and safe on the road it needs to be serviced regularly. At intervals of 5,000 kilometres, your engine oil and oil filter should be changed and the car should receive a safety check. At the 10,000-kilometre service interval, the engine oil and oil filter should be changed. A safety check should also be done, as well as an inspection of the spark plugs, fuel filter and air filter (service intervals may vary depending on type of oil, spark plugs and filters used).
To keep your car in good performing condition and safe on the road it needs to be serviced regularly. A service consists of:

Our team have high attention to detail and will advise if any additional repairs may be required for your vehicle.

If a major service is required, your car may also need:

Spark plug inspection/replacement

The service type may depend on the number of kilometres travelled.

  • All mechanical repairs and servicing
  • Brake and clutch repairs
  • Shock absorber steering and suspension repairs
  • New car servicing
  • Log book servicing for most makes and models

  • CV joint repairs
  • ACT Registration inspections
  • Member of the MTA
  • If further repairs are required after inspection, you'll be contacted for your authorisation before any more repairs are carried out.

Worn spark plugs blocked fuel filters and dirty air filters can cause your car to run poorly and use more fuel.

As well as needing your car to drive well, you also need to have properly functioning brakes. During a safety inspection included in our services, your brakes and brake fluid will be inspected to ensure that they are in good condition. The brake fluid should be changed every two years as most brake fluids are hydroscopic (absorb moisture), which can reduce your braking performance.
